About Me

I learned about the charity Breaking the Chain Through Education at sleep away camp through a presentation given by a camp directer. The presentation about how these kids have to work really hard with sometimes only one meal a day, They're sold by their parents because of poverty with false hopes of getting fed and educated properly, and this just moved me and made me want to do something to help. I loved to make jewelry but hated to wear it, and I decided to do this for my Bat Mitzvah project. I reached my first goal of $880 (to rehabilitate one child that was freed from slavery). Now, my goal is to reach $1,000 to buy school supplies for 100 kids. You can support my project by purchasing jewelry from my Etsy site, or emailing me (dorijewelry@gmail.com) about custom making jewelry (at no extra cost).
